Safeguarding children in the Early Years awareness workshop – Focus Private Fostering & Physical Abuse.
The subject will be explored through short case studies where participants will have an opportunity to discuss the scenarios with other participants with a view to sharing best practice, and developing working knowledge of managing concerns.
Description:
The aims of the workshop are to:
• Raise practitioner awareness and competence in managing safeguarding in the setting
• Provide participants with an opportunity to explore the subject of managing safeguarding concerns in the setting and developing effective practice.
• Gain an understanding of what needs to be done e.g. reporting concerns, & sharing concerns
Outcome:
Participants will be equipped with the necessary skills and information required to effectively safeguard the children in their care.
Participants will have gained a better understanding of the processes they need to follow to safeguard children
Booking information:
This training will take place during the usual Childminder Drop-in session and will be repeated twice. Please ensure you book on to the correct session – either session one or session two.
If you are attending with children it is YOUR responsibility to arrange with another Childminder/s to supervise your children while you are in the training. You will also need to ensure you have permission from every child’s parents for them to be supervised by another childminder while you are in the training.
In order to complete your booking you MUST fully fill in and return the additional information form to Khadeeja.Mehtar@walthamforest.gov.uk If you fail to do this a minimum of 48 hours before the training you will not be able to take part.
