Description
This course combines Ofsted’s view of what outstanding governance and safeguarding
looks like according to their own inspection criteria.
• To understand and fulfil governors’ roles and responsibilities to safeguard and
promote the welfare for children
• To ensure effectiveness in discharging of governors’ core statutory
• safeguarding functions
• To ensure that governors have a clear and up to date understanding of the
spectrum of safeguarding within the context of Ofsted inspections, LA procedures
and complaints
• Effectively plan for, monitor and challenge senior leadership and staff to excel in
their safeguarding arrangements by communicating and implementing a vision for
outstanding safeguarding and best practice
