Suitable for professionals who work regularly with children and young people, and who have considerable professional and organisational responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children.
On completing this course participants should:
- understand the background to information sharing, its importance and barriers;
- understand the importance of working with consent, how to obtain it, and when lack of consent can be lawfully overridden;
- be updated and aware of national and local developments around information sharing, confidentiality and children’s welfare;
- be more confident in identifying when information sharing is necessary and know what to do when faced with making decisions about sharing.
