Outline:

Participants will be able to:
• Learn about the importance of language and communication skills
• Learn about how to support parents to develop their child’s language and communication skills
• We will introduce Talk2gether resources and discuss how to use them

Description:

The training session will develop your knowledge around speech, language and communication development in the early years, and we will explore the important role that parents play. We will introduce Talk2gether, a package of resources that you can use to support parents to develop their child’s language and communication skills. We will consider the challenges around engaging and working with parents and develop your confidence so that you are better able to support parents in your setting.

Outcome:

Participants will develop their knowledge around language and communication in the early years. They will learn about how to use the Talk2gether resource pack and will receive a pack to take back to their setting to use together with parents.
