Outline:

• Learn about the importance of language and communication skills in the early years
• Learn about how to support parents to develop their child’s language and communication skills
• We will introduce Talk2gether resources and discuss how to use them
• You will receive a follow-up setting visit to support you in setting up the Talk2gether programme

Practitioners will discuss practical strategies which can be taken back and implemented within settings.

Description:

The training session will explore the important role that parents play in supporting their child’s language and communication development. We will introduce Talk2gether, a package of resources that you can use with parents in your setting. We will explore the challenges around engaging and working with parents, and through discussion and activities develop your skills so that you feel confident to support parents in your setting.

Outcome:

Participants will develop their confidence in working together with parents to help them support their child’s language and communication skills. They will learn about how to use the Talk2gether resource pack and will receive a pack to take back to their setting to use together with parents.
