Outline:

Stories to support social understanding are a useful strategy for children with social interaction needs such as autism, helping them to understand social situations.

Description:

This workshop will provide guidance on how to write a social narrative for a child who has difficulty understanding social situations. Participants will write a story for a child they know. Please come with an idea in mind.
Examples:
• It’s okay not to always be first
• How to take turns
• Going to bed
• Cleaning my teeth
• Saying ‘Hi’ to my friends
