• Promoting welfare and wellbeing

• Governor role in safeguarding inspection, audit & compliance
• Safeguarding in KCSIE 2018, WTSC 2018, data protection act 2018, etc
• Safeguarding as outlined in Competency Framework for Governance (2017) &
Governance Handbook (2018)
• Key policies and procedures in school: development & review
Decision-making
• The role of governance in exclusions / disciplinaries / allegations / complaints
Systemic Leadership
• Policies & procedures
• Ethos & culture
• Translating the child’s experience & voice into practice
• Developing Leadership & Succession planning.

Outcome:

To equip governors with tools, knowledge and resources to provide schools with strategic leadership in safeguarding, and to achieve effective challenge.
