Outline:

Suitable for professionals who work regularly with children and young people, and who have considerable professional and organisational responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children.

Description:

To improve professionals' competence in dealing with issues of confidentiality, consent and information sharing.

Multi-agency core group B, C (health level to be advised)

Outcome:

On completing this course participants should:

understand the background to information sharing, its importance and barriers;
understand the importance of working with consent, how to obtain it, and when lack of consent can be lawfully overridden;
be updated and aware of national and local developments around information sharing, confidentiality and children's welfare;
be more confident in identifying when information sharing is necessary and know what to do when faced with making decisions about sharing.
