Outline:
The session is aimed at those new to year 1 and 2 who will be administering the phonics screening check for the first time. Experienced year 1 and 2 teachers who want to refresh their skills and knowledge of the phonics screening check are also welcome to attend.
Description:
The focus of the course is to ensure that the administration fulfils statutory requirements.
The course will provide the opportunity to explore:
1. The purpose of the check
2. Expectations for the phonics screening check and the phonics decoding skills being assessed
3. The implications of the test results
Please bring along a copy of the KS1 assessment and reporting arrangements (ARA).
Audience:
New and experienced Year 1 & 2 teachers.
