Description:

Waltham Forest Early Years Consultants are offering all EY settings in the borough (PVI and maintained) the opportunity to be part of a universal ‘Health Check’ based on four OfSTED headings.
This work will enable the Waltham Forest Teaching and Learning Team to gain a complete overview of the needs and future direction of Early Years in the borough.
Analysis of this information will better inform Phase 2 – the commissioning of Sector led support - to target specific training requirements, school to school support and mentoring.

Issues covered at the session:
* Health Checks in schools explained – the rationale
* How the Health Checks will be carried out
* Who will carry out the Health Checks
* What will happen to the information gathered
* Part 2 – an overview of findings – Spring Conference

There will be an opportunity at the session to meet the team carrying out the Health Checks (Prospects Services).

Outcome:

Head Teachers and EYFS Leads will gain a full understanding of what a Health Check carried out in their school will look like and the type of information gathered.

All schools will receive feedback from each Early Years Health Check as to strengths and ‘next steps’ linked to individual school SEF.
