Outline:
• Exploration of theories, ideas and the importance of independent learning skills such as:
• Scaffolding, role modelling, social learning theory, mindsets, executive functioning skills
• Looking at how these theories can be applied in the classroom
Description:
An exploration of theories, about why explicit teaching of independence is an important part of classroom teaching and how this can be incorporated into classroom tasks.
Outcome:
Building understanding and confidence and giving ideas as to how staff can better support students to become independent learners.
Audience:
Teachers and teaching Assistants in Primary and Secondary schools.
