Outline:

This course introduces a design project for Year 10 or 11 student inspired by the William Morris Gallery 's Pioneers: William Morris to Bauhaus exhibition.

Description:

An introductory workshop split between the Gallery and Blackhorse Workshop explores classic Bauhaus design principles and builds practical skills in metalworking and constructing. A project brief is set to complete in school and there will be an opportunity for a selection of resulting work to be exhibited in March at 1 Hoe Street. Teachers will have the opportunity to develop practical making skills with the support of Blackhorse Workshop artists with a particular focus on metalworking techniques possible in school. Preview the students workshops and accompanying learning resources. Blackhorse Workshops have created a metal-working toolkit for teachers to take away.

This course is funded by Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture 2109 so initially is only offered to Waltham Forest teachers. It is free of charge but a cancellation charge of £75 will be payable in case of non-attendance

Builds practical skills in metalworking and constructing with a particular focus on metalworking techniques possible in school
