The problem with most emergencies is that you are alone in the initial stages of the response. The Council and emergency services are on their way to help, but cannot be there immediately. Very often, the initial decisions and actions lay the foundation for how well the outcome will be. Preparation is key to performing well during an "exam".
Your preparation, in the form of a written plan (Critical Incident Plan – CIP), allows your school to carefully consider what the best course of action is forcertain risk scenarios

If you are unsure of the quality of the content of your plan, please come to one of our complimentary workshops and evaluate its effectiveness. The workshops will be held at the Town Hall (Laurel House) on the following dates (16:00 to 17:00):
