Outline:

A session for Childminders to:
develop knowledge around language and communication development in the early years.
develop knowledge around supporting children who are learning more than one language.

Description:

The session will provide information about bilingual language development. We will also discuss key features of bilingual language development and how you can best support children who are learning English as a second language.

Outcome:

Attendees will have a better understanding of speech, language and communication development in the early years.

Attendees will know what to do if they have concerns about a child’s language and communication development.

Attendees will have a better understanding of bilingual language development, feel more confident in supporting children who are learning more than one language and know some key strategies to use to support their children .

Attendees will be provided with some resources to keep as reference
