Outline:

A session carried out by All Talk with a focus on ways of using storytelling to develop language and communication skills.

Description:

The session will be interactive. Examples of strategies will be discussed and childminders will be supported to share ideas as well as discuss and practice strategies for making storytelling interesting and engaging. Childminders will learn about the use of sensory and visual props to support storytelling, as well as ways of interacting and facilitating language and communication skills

Outcome:

Childminders will:
• Learn about how storytelling can be used to support speech, language and communication skills
• Consider ways to make story telling interactive and engaging for young children
• Reflect on current practice and resources and plan an interactive story

Booking information:

This training will take place during the usual Childminder Drop-in session and will be repeated twice. Please ensure you book on to the correct session – either session one or session two.
If you are attending with children it is YOUR responsibility to arrange with another Childminder/s to supervise your children while you are in the training. You will also need to ensure you have permission from every child’s parents for them to be supervised by another childminder while you are in the training.

If you fail to do this a minimum of 48 hours before the training you will not be able to take part.
