Assessment of Comprehension & Expression

Thu, 23 Mar 2017 09:30 - 15:30

Whitefield Research and Development Centre (MAIN / Main room), Macdonald Road, Walthamstow, London, E17 4AZ

A number of tests and procedures are available for monitoring language in the early stages but fewer have been available for exploring later and higher order language skills. The tutors will explore the use of ACE with deaf children and the implications of findings for classroom programmes and targets. This one-day course will take the form of lectures and practical workshops so that participants can judge the usefulness of ACE to them and feel confident to start using the test.

“Feel much more confident in use of ACE and actually using the results in planning”

This course will:

• Ensure that all participants are aware of the rationale, structure and key features of the ACE assessment
• Foster competency in the administration of the main and extension sub-tests and the interpretation of test results
• Provide a clear overview of the assessment as a whole and its potential application within a service for pupils with hearing loss
• Give clear guidance on good practice in administration of the assessment and interpretation and use of the results

PLEASE NOTE: If you have a copy of the ACE, please bring along with you to the training course.
