High quality outdoor learning in Epping Forest or your school grounds


Suntrap activities are led by specialist, experienced primary and secondary school teachers and tutors. Activities are linked to national curriculum programmes of study to support school-based learning by developing understanding through practical real world experiences.

Among the first centres to be awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom quality badge, and has continued to hold this since 2010. In 2017 we celebrated our 50th Anniversary.


Suntrap offers;

• Environmental activities specifically designed to support the national
curriculum at foundation, KS 1, 2, 3 and 4
• Bespoke courses for pupils, adults, or target groups e.g. SEN, gifted & talented
• Camping with activities led by expert Suntrap staff
• GCSE controlled assessment
• Biology and geography programmes for A-level
• Team building and bush craft activities for all ages
• Outreach visits to schools offering hands on sessions with the Suntrap animals
• All activities are risk assessed
