School & Colleges
By law schools and colleges must have written policies on some areas of their operation. This section of the website brings together all of the information into one place, so that schools and colleges know what is expected of them. The Department for Education (DfE) has published timelines of forthcoming mandatory legal requirements to be implemented to help headteachers, principals and governors plan for the forthcoming academic year and beyond. Other useful dates are included in separate information timelines.
All policies should relate to the aims of the school or college and be meaningful, living, working documents. In order to achieve this staff, governors, parents and children need to be involved in their compilation.
Schools and colleges should have regard to the Department for Education's (DfE's) guidance on statutory policies. The DfE has a collection of statutory guidance publications about schools. DfE advice about schools, which is not statutory, is in a separate collection.
All visitors to The Hub can see the information presented in this section, but in order to see the policy and guidance available to download you must be a registered user of The Hub and logged-in. You can register here, if you have not already done so.
