Reporting an accident or incident to Ofsted

EYFS & Childcare

EYFS 2017 states that you must tell Ofsted about any ‘serious’ accidents or injuries that occur in your setting. This includes broken bones, or when a child loses consciousness or requiring an admittance to hospital for more than 24 hours. In terms of minor Injuries such as sprains, strains or falls, even if you take the child to your local accident and emergency department to have the injury checked out, do not require you to report to Ofsted.
