Other changes

There were a number of other commitments in the Conservative Party manifesto which are in process of being implemented or a likely to be implemented in the near future. These commitments include 500 additional free schools across England and Wales, introduction of Progress 8 measurements and compulsory core GCSE subjects from 2020, new standards for primary literacy and numeracy, expansion of apprenticeships, funding per pupil maintained nationally and a new Common Framework for Ofsted inspections.

There is no doubt that these policy changes have had and will continue to have a significant effect on schools in Waltham Forest and across England and Wales. The partnership is committed to dealing with these changes in a pragmatic way and will do all it can to ensure that all school providers are of a high quality and will ensure that any new providers coming into Waltham Forest share our vision and ambition and provide high quality education for our children.
