Our ambition

Education in Waltham Forest

Our ambition for inclusion in Waltham Forest is that children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and their families are included in everything in the local community. They will be supported to reach their educational potential and achieve their goals in life and they will move into adulthood with jobs or opportunities to contribute and will have choice and control over their support and their future lives.

Children and young people with emotional needs will be supported to access mainstream schools and those vulnerable to exclusion will be provided with appropriate alternative pathways to ensure that they remain engaged in education and training. This will maximise their opportunities to gain employment and contribute to society as adults.
