How will we achieve our ambition?

Education in Waltham Forest

Children and young people with SEND and their families will:

  • be encouraged to have ambition and develop chosen pathways to adulthood
  • have good opportunities to reach their full potential and enjoy independence, choice and control through integrated, holistic services
  • have access to a continuum of provision to meet their needs ranging from mainstream education provision to special school provision where needed
  • have access to good quality information and advice to enable them to get the best out of education and training and lead healthy lives

There will be a joined up and integrated approach to identifying needs reducing multiple assessments and addressing safeguarding concerns.

Children and young people with emotional difficulties will have access to an increased variety of good quality assured alternative education and training pathways.
